I recently sent my Razer Blade 2014 in for repairs because my "i" key failed. I got a response from Razer claiming it is liquid damage and stating that my warranty doesn't cover the damage. There is zero chance I've ever spilt anything on my keyboard, and I don't have sweaty hands. They want to charge me $310.00 to repair a single key. Thats almost 15% of what I payed for the laptop. I could buy 3 of their keyboards for that price. Not only that, they want 100$ for inspecting my laptop if I choose not to repair it. I feel like I'm being swindled into paying for this repair. There is no chance this is liquid damage, I've babied this laptop since I got it less than a year ago. What should I do?

YOU HAVE TO FIGHT except it was the iGPU failing

HP did the same trick to me and I eventually got them to fix it

tell them that if it was water damage it would not be one key

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

How do I fight it? I can email a response saying there is no way this is liquid damage but they could just be like. "yeah it is". What did you do in your case?

I explained that if there was water damage that it would have damaged more than one component and in my case that if the iGPU was damaged then the CPU would be damaged too

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Sadly, Razer products are heavily marked up, and they expect you to have lots of money if you buy their products, and to have no idea what a simple repair should cost.

I don't know where you live, but where I live we have the better business bureau that investigates scummy behavior like this on behalf of the consumer, but in this case it sounds like they are holding your computer hostage.
