Everything works, but I don't see post messages on boot - Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

Go to solution Solved by -rascal-,

From what I know, only specific boards will show those messages now.

The Gigabyte Z97 and H87 boards that I worked with no longer has that message...if I recall correctly.

Heck I don't think even my Gigabyte socket FM1 board has it (or I have it turned off).

My ASUS ROG has the option to go through RAM / CPU / HDD check on POST, but those messages don't show up. All I see are the corresponding LEDs on the motherboard blink.

Title pretty much says it all... From the moment I turn on the computer, I don't see anything on the screen until Starting Windows. No post messages, no nothing.

What the hell?!

Everything works. Just... I don't see any post messages and such...

I'm guessing you selected quick boot when you setup your bios. I use asus boot setting to go back into mine. I'm sure gigabyte has an equivalent.

If there is, I don't see it.

There is some option like show GIGABYTE logo during boot which I can enable or disable. If I enable it, it's the same... just the logo shows for like 0.5 seconds before Starting Windows...

okay, apparently gigabyte doesn't have a way to directly access the bios after selecting their ultra fast boot setting. There is a workaround by resetting the bios, but I'd see if anyone who uses a gigabyte board knows another workaround.

I don't get it. BIOS = the screen where you change settings & such. Nowadays, it's UEFI. So UEFI = BIOS screen, basically...

I can access UEFI / BIOS whatever. I don't see post messages when I boot up normally. Like "CPU installed, RAM installed, booting now beware, black screen, WINDOWS haha gotcha weak human"...

they don't bother reporting ram acesss=ok and the like. they assume you don't care as long as it works ok, and just bypass the reporting. if it posts it's assumed it worked. If it doesn't they'll let you know.

I see. Well, there's no biggie. Thanks for clarifying.

There's another problem that just popped up now... I'm gonna have to create a new thread (again). Ugh :(
