Question about pumps.

Go to solution Solved by Shaqo_Wyn,

Quite a bit for a pump. What makes it worth the price?

The pump itself is cheaper, $89. This one comes with a nice pump top that increases head pressure.

The D5's are quieter and run cooler than the DDC's. I wouldn't dream of running a DDC without a heatsink and those cost $25 on there own.

D5's also push a massive 1200 LPH.

Here's the pump by itself if you already have a pump top or other way of connecting it to the res. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13147/ex-pmp-131/Alphacool_VPP655_Variable_Speed_Pump_w_RPM_Monitoring_-_Single_Edition_13122.html

Im going to try my first watercooled loop with acrylic. Question is should I get Swiftech MCP50X Liquid Cooling PWM Pump - Black and Bitspower Water Tank Z-Multi 150 Inline Reservoir - Clear. Or EK-XRES 140 DDC 3.2 PWM (incl. pump) dont plan on doing gpu anytime soon but maybe later on.

The res is great. If you pair it with a D5, you're golden. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/15144/ex-pmp-184/EK_D5_X-Top_Acetal_Pump_Top_CSQ_w_Alphacool_VPP655_Variable_Speed_Pump_Installed.html#blank

The flow rate and the variable speeds,it makes it a lot easier to bleed out bubbles.

Okay thanks. I have no idea what I'm doing lol. Guess it can't be to hard. Bending seems easy enough, just dont want these huge rigid compression fittings not fitting on the water block and pump.

The D5 might be a bit overkill for a small loop. DDC should be more than enough even if you add the GPU to the loop later.

If I did add the gpu in it would be 2. I just wanna have enough power so if I decide to go that route I dont have to upgrade anything and honestly it comes down to how big of a pain in the ass acrylic is.

1/2 fittings are usually pretty thight but they should fit and if they don't you can also get some inexpensive extension fittings with slimmer profiles.
