my mom does not aprove, i know its easy to build one

The way I always bet approval for my friends is to tell their parent's it's an "educational experience"

Seeing as this is a multicultural community, I don't have any idea as to what your family or in particularly, your mother, on technology, but please try to explain to her that selecting individual parts and then putting them together is a much more efficient process, at least money wise.

Show your mom the price of a computer if you build it yourself. Then show her one's price with the same specs that's prebuilt, and tell her that she can pay the difference if she wants to be stupid.

Exactly, in truth it is. After building the PC, and after the almost certain troubleshooting you will come out a more technologically knowledgeable person.

I got most of my programming/command line knowledge out of troubleshooting for my n00b friends :P

fine the minimum specs for the game, find a rig mass sold in stores retail or online that can run the game on low settings. check the psu and what cards it can support later on so you can at least do a card swap down the line. wont have a lot of well known brand names in it but on paper a lot of the specs are the same. Plus you can at least get a decent warranty for the whole rig.

I'm just about to go through that, two of my friends are saying that they need a new PC, they instantly turned to me and asked about parts and building it lol.

Even though I'm only just a novice (yes, even with >3K posts) I'm God-like to them when it comes to PCs.

Just don't go to CyberpowerPC.  A coworker ordered one from them and had a rough time with it.   They dropped the computer before packaging it.  The vents on the bottom were smashed and a foot was broken off.  Yet the shipping box was fine... evidence it happened before shipping.   He called them to return it and they wanted to REPAIR it.

Reasonably, he didn't want it at all.  Returning it would have cost him $200 in shipping because they wouldn't accept non-insured returns.  In the end, he agreed to have it repaired so that he could get the free return label.  Then called them up to tell them never mind and to keep it.  There was fine print that said they could charge $50 for a correction to the shipping price, and he was fine with that.  Better than $200.

And then finally... he ordered parts from Newegg and built his own.    So... two recommendations:  Don't buy from CyberPowerPC.. and build your own when you can.  It's a bummer your mom gave you some guidelines, but I'm sure she has reasons.

Show this to your mom and let her reconsider, since building PCs are more flexible and cheaper than buying pre-built crap. Also, why not experience the fun? ;)

Why doesn't your mom allow you build your own computer? Insecure much about breaking expensive stuff? :(

Speaking of builds, here's one I've made... :D

I know how that feels sadly. My parents wouldn't let my build my PC. :(

@babadoctor I could put myself in your parents shoes telling my son no, he can't build his own... and then I could think of something he could do that might change my mind.  I would want to watch some computer-building videos with him.  The more the better and from different creators.  I'd want to be able to ask him questions about how he would put it together, and I'd want straight answers... nothing like "I'd look it up online."

Maybe you could try a tactic like that.

I actually tried explaining it to them, the only problem: they dont know anything about computers

Well that sucks. :(

Tell them that millions of people, including people of your age have built lots and lots of computers and very few of them failed during the building process. It's something that everyone can do, even for those that may or may not understand how computers work.

OR...

You can find some a trustworthy boutique system builder around your area, buy the parts I've listed earlier, then let the guy there build it for you in case if your parents really can't even hear the words "building a computer". I wouldn't bother with prebuilds since they aren't a good value compared to the one I've listed and several other custom builds too.
