Approximently 1 and a half year ago I bought a new PC. The aim was to buy a computer that was fast allround, whilst browsing the internet and other typical day to day stuff, but also be able to play the latest games on high graphic settings. I choose all of the parts, and seemed to have made an error somewhere along the way, but I can't really locate where.

The issue:

I can start the system, everything works well and fast, lighter tasks such as Firefox with 1-2 tabs open and music playing in the background works very well. But as soon as I start to open more tabs the whole computer becomes slow and unresponsive, sometimes it freezes too, although not for very long. There is a similar problem when using youtube specifically for a longer period of time. It starts of well but after, say, 20 minutes it slows down and get unresponsive. This lack of speed "stays there" until I reboot the system. Also, when this problem has begun, the computer seemes to have a problem reaching a decent FPS in games that normally run fine. Decent as in +25FPS (games that normally run in 60 FPS or more). Although it's not often, this problem sometimes exists at start, before I've done anything but load windows along with the other programs that start automatically.

The first month I owned the machine there was an issue when browsing the internet, randomly it would freeze for up to 30sec. This problem dissapeared when I installed Java. I can't remember ever having the same trouble with earlier computers despite running the same operating system (Win 7 64-bit).

I am being "forced" to use Firefox instead of Chrome because the latter makes the computer freeze from time to time.

The wierd thing is; it can handle games like BF4 without any problem at high framerates at highest setting, I've also played other games without encountering any problems.

I've reinstalled windows a couple of times, checked  for Bios-updates several times (although it has been a while now), updated other drivers that I've been able to find but still, the problem exists.

I've also run memorytests for several hours but without any problems.

It can be worth mentioning that besides when browsing, multitasking never seem to be a problem (unless it has entered the slow state which i spoke about earlier), it runs several programs without any loss of performance.

Perhaps, there is someone with a solution on this site, perhaps someone can see if Ive made a misstake with one of the hardware parts, that one unit isn't optimised for another one etc...

Thanks!

Sorry for the English, writing this a little too late, after work and in anger after accidentally deleting an old post when i nearly finished writing it and it's not even my first language.

do you know what your temps

Here's the wierd thing; I check temperatures mainly with CPUID HWMonitor and it does not show the same CPU temp as the MSI control center (software from the mainboard manufacturer).

Usually, the CPU HWMonitor claims that the CPU is around 10C when idle, and towards 40C-50C when under load. The MSI control center however, says a more realistic 30C-35C when idle which is more like the air blowing through the watercooling system on the back of the PC.

Another thing I've noticed is that sometimes, randomly, I can see a new Temp. gauge. This one appears in the middle of other temperaturegauges on my mainboard, and this one, sometimes, says says about 127C. This does not seem very realistic since the air blowing out of the back from the computer, is approximently 30C-40C. I've noticed the same problem 2-3 times with my CPU temp, HWMonitor has claimed it to be running at >200C, but that does not seem very trustworthy. All I need to do is to reebot the system and everyting is back to normal again..

are you looking at core temps or chip set temps people get confused sometimes

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

TBH, I'm quite new to all of this, therefore I cannot answer your question because I don't know :P

Just opened the computer and found that the debug led-panel is giving me messages, code; 31,32, 34, 36, 37 and 38...

I reffered to the manual of my MB and found the "answer" for two of the codes:

37: "Displaying sign-on message, CPU information, setup key message and any OEM specific information."

38: "Initializes different devices through DIM"

Any idea what the latter one means?

Also found something else which I thought was well worth mentioning; did spot, near the CPU some spill on the mother board, probably cooling-paste from when attaching the CPU-cooler. Can this have any effect? It isn't much but should I be worry that electricity might travel through this paste and interfere the communication within the computer?

Have run memtest for several hours without running into problems, are there similar tests on any other components that I should try?
