I just came across this, it is freaking expensive and they are marketed with what, Tesla drivers. Anyone can enlight me what is this? How does this even fare against the DT880 and 990s, also how does this compared to HD800s? After all it costs almost the same as HD800!

Well, i've never tried any high-end headphones like the t5p, but the seem to be more flat  than the T1 and HD800

Also, they have better sub bass ... and that's about it. They sound different, but doens't mean they sound better. I believe the HD800 are technically better headphones, but the impedance is much higher than the T5p and they don't isolate at all.

Yep. I don't really see the point in dynamic drivers at that price point; at least the HD800 tries to do something different.

Can't be any closer to the truth. They sound like garbage. DT 880's/990's sound much better.

They probably figured the only people who would buy them are audiofeelers, and so didn't bother to make them sound good.

Nope! Unless you want to argue that what the DT880 really needs is less midrange and more in the top two octaves.

and yet with this kind of graph, you could hear the difference between HD558 and HD600. I could believe an amp / dac performance based on the numbers, doing the same thing for headphone is a bit too much. After all, it's always easier to measure something that's static (electricity) compared to something that's mechanical (drivers)

There's an obvious difference in FR, if you want to argue that doesn't exist go right ahead.

I suppose your ears can do a calculation on a FR but just simply listening to it, but mine can't. I just put the headphone on, listen to it and let my ears judge whether it feels comfortable and do I like it or not.

 

There's a difference in FR, probably no 2 drivers in a headphone have 100% identical FR. But if someone likes T90 more than DT880 and he or she is willing to pay the additional price, probably I wouldn't budge on it, both are still good headphones.
