My desktop keeps bluescreening and when I turn it back on and look in the boot devices my SSD, my boot drive, is always switched with my hard drive, which has a broken version of windows on it. But when I put my SSD back as priority #1 and restart my pc it will work for an hour or so then bluescreen again, and again resetting my boot drive priorities. So my question is, could this be caused by my SSD dieing on me?

Format the hard drive so the install of the "broken" Windows can be removed. Do you remember the code that came up in the BSOD?

Boot to SSD

Open CMD as Admin

Type chkdsk /f

restart PC

Have it run and check for errors and fix what it can.

Another problem might be the OS integrity.

Open CMD as Admin

Type sfc /scannow

and have it run.

If this doesn't solve your issues, you should check your connections, or you actuallly got a broken drive.

Write down the BSOD code 0x00000something and google for it. Might give you a more specific problem description.

Go to Control Panel, click on System, and on the left pane, click on Advanced System Settings. Make sure you're on the Advanced tab when the window comes up. You'll see a section for Startup and Recovery. Click on the settings button in there. A window will come up with a section of System Failure. Uncheck Automatically Restart and click OK.

Didn't it check the disk before booting into windows? Have you opened CMD as admin?

yes i ran it as admin, and it did not check before booting into windows. I did the scf /scannow and there are no integrity violations

Hmmm, you can go to "Computer", rightclick your SSD, chose the tab "Tools" and select "Check" there and see if it will work then ^^

It has to check them before boot up, in order to repair [/f] the faulty sectors, if there is any.

Otherwise check your connections, perhaps make a bios or SSD firmware update, but other than that, I cannot tell you much more :/

It seems that my M4 has the 5200h problem where after 5200 hours of use there becomes a bug where it will bsod after 1 hour or use. Once the computer is restarted it will work fine for an hour then crash again, so I will try updating the firmware and see if that helps :D! Does anyone have any experience updating SSD firmware?

Try moving it into another sata port while not putting in another drive into that port again, sounds weird but it might work.

I am timing how long it takes for the BSOD to happen again, if it happens around an hour I am going to try a firmware update because that is a very common issue with this SSD. If that does not work I will try putting the SSD into another sata port and remove my hdd.

hahaahaha i know what a sata port is, I built this PC myself, I dont know what you were tryingto tell me tho, and it was the crucial 5200h bug i think my firmware was 0001 and 0001 0002 and 0009 all have the 5200h bug. In like 45 minutes I will find out if this fixed the problem. Thanks for the help tho :D
