LED light a desk

RaynN

Hey guys, i made an account here since i thought you guys might have the best advice for me.

I've recently wanted to led-light my desk, just a few nice, green LED's around it, so the back edge glows and below it glows.

Problem is, i know little to squat about even making an LED work well.

Simple as that, i want to power a couple of LED'S cheaply.

Is it possible for me to get a few of them, get a couple of battery packs and get it to work? If so, what kind of batteries do i need, also, how long would an LED light last with the batteries?

If i didn't make much sense please do tell me, otherwise, i'll await an answer, thank you in advance. :)

Led are simple you can get a strip like this http://www.amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT%C2%AE-Waterproof-Flexible-300leds-Changing/dp/B00ASHQQKI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423679728&sr=8-2&keywords=Led+strip

and never have to worry about it

the strip you can cut to length and solder on a 12v DC connector (one usually comes with it pre installed ) But if you don't want that I could make you one that is to what ever lingth you want and what ever color. also to power most Led strips it takes 12V DC

Are you saying about color case and led fans ?.

the product he recommended can be stuck to the back of the desk or anywhere else you want it and it does include a power supply, so you won't have to worry about batteries

I bought an rgb led strip off amazon and used sellotape to keep it in place. Will post a link and take a photo for you to see an example. Very amatuer one :D

I got this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JY73XCM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

The colour set in the photo is bright purple and i got it pretty close to the wall (2inches away) so it looks white on photo but in reality its not as white :) My led strip is attached to the edge of the desk.

The one you linked does come with the connector already installed, it is just plug and play. If you ever need them though, they now make these: http://www.amazon.com/AspenTek-Connector-Conductor-Connecting-Controller/dp/B00G1BYJQS/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1423696652&sr=8-7&keywords=rgb+led+adapter

No soldering required.  :D I've recently started using them, they work really well and are a huge time saver. You can get them for directly connecting lengths of LEDs together, or ones that are a few inches long for bending around corners, as well as ones for single color LEDs that adapt to a DC barrel plug.
