I'm upgrading my current rig ( Asrock pro-4, i3-3225, Cm storm scout 2, win 7) to a  M-ITX rig (Bitfenix Prodigy, Gigabyte GA-Z87N-WIFI, 4670k)

What will I need to do in order to make this a smooth upgrade?

edit: i have an Asus 7870

All u need is a case large enough to support ur GPU and the right size for ur mobo. BTW, where is your OS stored on? If u have an SSD or HDD, u need a cage to support it

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

It would be nice to know what are your priorities, do you plan on light overclocking or heavy overclocking?

How about cooling, and how many hard drives /SSDs are you going to fit into the system?

The 7870 will fit in the prodigy, I believe.

Just put it inside the Prodigy, done. You won't have ANY problems at all. The Bitfenix Prodigy case can fit 690s and 780s easily without any problems. It's a rather large case for being mITX.

Make sure your power supply fits, sometimes they are a bit of trouble in the prodigy's

I"m just using a single hard drive for my OS. Little overclocking.

I am switching to the smaller form factor for LAN parties because hauling around a 30 pound build isn't the best for LAN's.

Than you should pick up the Gigabyte Z87 or the MSI one, depending on whichever is cheaper.

(we have no idea on how much power phases Gigabyte is using, so I don't know which one overclocks better.)
