Local hardware store is probably your best bet. Then you can get a feel for it, make sure you like the grip and the wait.

I don't like the idea of buying tools over the internet.

I agree 100% unless you tried it in the store and its cheaper on the internet or something, buy from the store.

Wow $60 for a screwdriver... That's one expensive tool! I mean I understand and value good tools but I could never personally justify that much money for one. Good find though mate.

In my opinion, just check out local stores and see what they have. If it's available online but cheaper, go for it just as you have a good feel over what you are buying.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

Spend double get the same one he has and I can guarantee that it will last forever, my dad still has his and its almost 40 years old and still works the same as the day he got it.

Snap on is worth the money, that's where most of my tools come from, can't beat a lifetime warranty. Just make sure no one nicks them ;)

Your best bet is to try and meet up with one of their reps, they tour around the automotive industry in big trucks globally, you should be able to talk them down a bit on price too :)

Same my dad has tools from his dad that are over 70 years old and they are in AMAZING condition and the snap on ones are really solid.

Yeah its expensive, all Snap On's are but they last forever unlike may other tools they you can get at a hardware or department store.  Like i said in my last post my dads has lasted 40 years with no corrosion at all and I can see it easily going for another 40.

thanks for the info, and sorry if there was already a thread like this but couldnt see anything with just a quick search, anyway i actually don't mind paying 60$ if i know its going to last me a long time because i will be using it all the time.

although i might do as some of you said and check out my local hardware store first. also ill have to see how much shipping is to Australia lol might not be worth it.

You will have Snap on reps in Oz for sure, ask a local garage if you can...

Also Bluepoint tools are made by Snap-on, same deal lifetime warranty etc but usually a bit cheaper.

As a diesel mechanic I can tell you that Snap-On tools are expensive but the will last forever been in the business for 12 years now with about 100,000 dollars worth of tools and boxes. But for a PC builder 63$ is a lot of money for a screw driver get it if really want it but any dollar store screw driver will work.

thanks again for the info

at the present time i am using a crappy $5 non magnetic non ratcheting screwdriver and its a pain to work with,

i have my own little side business of computer repair so i can definitely justify spending even $80 on it.
