Shutdown takes 1 minute with SSD

Jerombolo

I don't know why it takes a minute, the drive light flashes the whole time during shutdown. I think it's since I made a: delete activitymarks... maybe it's related to Kaspersky but I don't know. The startup still takes 20 seconds tough! So that's not effected

My start-up time takes a similar length, and I need to investigate why it does that.

In regards to the shutdown time, I have no earthly idea. My shutdown time takes about 6-7 seconds.

Interesting, what OS are you running and do you close everything before shutting down?

Hey,

Whoever has this problem, besides checking the health of the drives, I would recommend checking for any background programs that might be working after you proceed to shutdown (checking, caching, creating recovery files due to RAID, creating backups, etc.).

So basicly what I did was:

1. I changed the Energy option from Samsung High Performance to Balanced

2. I changed the SSD optimization in Samsung Magician

and that's it.
