Scam Calls?

Guest Philosophy

Question for all you tech peoples, does Version or other companies sell you phone number? My home phone gets tons of fake spam calls, most not even with my name. It is very odd seeing I do not give out my phone number especially my home number. And is there anyway to block them?

I know that here in the netherlands we have a "Do not call me" list which means that you won't get called unless you give out your phone number

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

call your service provider and ask to be placed "ex directory" this means your number is not recorded publicly in a phonebook, change your number , these can both be done via your provider with one phone call. hope this helps. it worked for me

These people just have a program (or someone punches the number) that randomly hits the numbers. If you can track them, you can sue them for calling you without your consent.

Got the same problem before too. My sister signed up for an online dating website and gave away my phone number. Everyday, I got tons of calls from people looking for love. Iol! It used to be funny at first but when the calls became frequent, I knew I had to make it stop. They were very agreessive and harassing. So I got this call blocker app that really worked. Helped me filter all my incoming calls. After a week of adding anonymous phone numbers to my blacklist, I was surprised. A whole passed and I didn't get a single unsolicited call!
