does ram latency matter

So as the title says does system ram (DDR) latency make a difference is it worth the trouble just for gaming if so how much of an improvement can you expect thanks again as always

For gaming there's basically no difference

There is absolutely no difference no matter what you do, when you start looking at DDR and DDR2 there starts to be a difference.
