wait.... but that would always be my advice. the computer you just brought is already outclassed by what is coming to the showroom by post.

Do you need to upgrade?. do you want amd?

At the moment the beast of a card in that price range is still the 970 despite all it's bad press. If you don't mind waiting check out the 390s

hey there, welcome to the forums :)

Well only two 290xs will give performance equal to two 290xs :P the 290xs are probably the best value option atm :)

970 are an option, but slightly more expensive, not bad one though.

What resolution are you playing at?

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

what resolution are you playing at? at 1080p 2 290xs would be a waste. getting 250fps in everything isn't a benefit to anyone lol.

they'd make sense for 1440p and 4k though

if you're running in 4k then the only option close to this price range is dual 290x

It gets it's arse kicked on lower resolutions, but the extra frame buffer evens things up at 4k

Hypocrite.

lol, not really I game at 1080p on a 42 inch 200hz tv. My single 980 is overkill for that. it's also either out of this price range or right on the limit.

I'm planning on a second 980. but that's an extra 800 AUD

A the 500 buck USD price range a couple of 290x in crossfire will beat a single 980 at 4k res. (They'll have difficulty beating the card at anything lower.)
