Hey guys well I recently built a new pc and am really happy with it. The thing is I need to be able to connect all my monitors to is and I unfortunatly can do that since I cannot connect 6 analog monitors to my gtx 970.

BTW here are the specs of my system:
-i7 4790K
-8Gb ram
-Gtx 970
-Asus Maximus IV Extreme
-750W

Can I connect my monitors to the old sapphire hd 3650 from my old computer and still use the gtx 970?

My rig:
CPU: i7 4790k @4.5ghz (1.165v) COOLER: Hyper 212 Evo  MOBO: Asus Maximus VI EXTREME   RAM: 8GB Kingston FURY @1866 Mhz   GPU: ASUS STRIX GTX 970 DUAL SLI   PSU: Corsair HX750   CASE: NZXT Phantom 830 HDD: WD Black 3TB SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 256Gb

Yes. Just plug them to the other gpu and they will run off it.

Hmm.... What do you mean plug them to the other GPU. I want all of them to run together. Would there be a driver problem or not?

No. Just install the Amd card, install Amd drivers, plug the displays you game with to the 970, plug rest to the amd one. Then you have to set your 970 as the renderer for games and then profit.

AS long as it has the same architecture and the same VRAM it shouldn't matter but the same Clock speeds would make sense to be the same.

AND the same series 290X MSI and a 290X Sapphire would be fine as long as they both had 4GB VRAM :)

So I understand the hd 3650 will not work with my gtx 970 seperately. Like both of them In one system.

Can anyone verify this?

you can install both cards at the same time, but they will not run at the same time, you'd need to restart each time you wanted to use either one of the cards.

you can use convertors to convert all of your cards outputs to vga etc but not all ports on the card can be used at the same time. your manual will explain which ones can and can't be used at the same time.

unless your monitors are high grade CRT's for production use id personally go out and buy 6 budget LCD ones.. they're going to be a darn sight better than ye olde analog monitors

Its touch and go.

I couldn't get this to work with a mix of a HD4870 and an AMD 5450 - but It would work with a HD4870 and HD4850 but ONLY if I disabled crossfire.

In theory you can plug multiple GPU's of any type and they can all drive monitors and can all be detected by windows. You can do things like put 6 video cards in a system and mine bitcoins on them provided you have enough PCI ports and power.
