I/O shield Installation

Unfortunately, I cut the metal pins off my I/O Shield.

 

I try  :(

Here's a picture I found on the internet that is similar to my problem.

oh lol those. before fully installing in my motherboard, i make sure to slide them down so it won't block.

Okay. I've have currently build 2 computers. One for a friend and one for myself but something both system have in common is that both the I/O shield seems to be installed wrong. What do I mean? I mean that the metal pins seem to be sticking out. Some of them blocks the port making them really hard to use. 
 

My question is how am I suppose to correctly install it? 
I'm about to do a $3000 build for a friend and I don't want to screw it up T_T

can you provide a picture?

You literally push it in from inside the case

I try  :(

Okay, I'm going to listen to your advice. If I ruin his Z97 Sabertooth Mark I, I'm blaming you LOL!

Just keep an eye on that thing when you put the motherboard, and make sure you don't cut yourself with the damn I/O shield lol.

The stars died for you to be here today.

A locked bathroom in the right place can make all the difference in the world.
