I have a HP Probook 470. It's happened just a few times recently, that when the notebook was on battery, it has completely shut down.

I assume it's something either with the battery or motherboard.  Happens with the 'familiar' subtle crack noise - when you cut power.

Has anybody got some experience with this? It might not be a reason to go straight to service with the notebook, but it could be quite a serious issue.

this problem is associated with the power supply circuit board in the laptop
