I building a new computer to replace my craptop but I recently discovered my motherboard has no built in wifi adapter. so I thought I would just do a wired connection but my parents won't let me. So what wifi adapter would you guys recommend, every one that I see has really mixed reviews. I would prefer it to be either USB 3.0 or PCI-E, but it would have to be  small because I don't want it to ruin my builds aesthetics.

I use Asus USB-N53 and it's a very good adapter. There is a PCIe version available if you don't feel like a dongle, the PCE-N53

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

Not really...

It would either require hiring someone to come and run one throught the wall or running a big wire through their house back to his room...

Cable management is key. We have several ethernet cables run up and down the stairs in our house and they're barely visible.

Sig under construction.

What color theme is your build? Just asking because asus makes a red pcb wifi adapter with a red heat sink. Otherwise just pick up any usb 3.0 sifi adapter from asus that is in your price range.

blue and white :( also budget is $35 maybe a bit over

the dongle looks good but the PCI-E one has bad ratings specifically with windows 8.1, which I will be using or windows 10

What's your budget?

Also, it's stupid of your parents to say no to ethernet.

I know, they don't want to be tripping over it and they don't want to hire people to put it in the walls
