Hi, I'm looking for a customizable gaming mouse, such as the Cyborg Mad Catz RAT, the Zalman ZM-G4, EVGA TORQ X10, Cougar 700M or the Razer ouroboros (but the battery life of the Razer is pretty disappointing, I'd rather buy a wireless mouse instead of a wired one, but not willing to compromise on battery life).

What do you think about them? Have you tried them, think that their ergonomics is good/bad? Know of any mouse which is similar/better than those? :)

EDIT: I'm a palm grip user with relatively big hands though, definitely NOT looking for a claw grip mouse. :P

I got quite big hands and heard that the G502 is smaller than it seems, I'd really want to try that if I had the chance, but.. Not quite what I asked though. :P

Nothing, all of them are too heavy and you cant adjust the Baseshape or the slope at palm piece, which makes all of this imo useless in comparison with "one purpose only" Designs, i would rather take a look at the Roccat XTD Optical or the Steelseries Rival instead.

What do you mean by the slope at palm piece? And why would you not suggest them? owned them, tried them, looked at the design, read the specifications or the reviews...?
And why are you suggesting those other mice? Own them, tried them, specifications, design, reviews?

The heaviness is a no problem for me though, I don't really care if it's light or heavy. :)

EDIT: Also, they've got pretty much the same weight as the ones you mentioned..

Compare the Sideprofile of the Kone with the Rat for example, and you will see what i mean, the Rat kind of forces a clawgrip, also there is the tilt problem with slideable palm rests.

The Sensors(A9800, S9818, PLN2033) of the Mice you mentioned are objectively not as good for gaming as other options. I suggested the other mice based on shape and performance, and yeah i have/had all of them except the Ourobouros, also most peripheral reviews just suck.

As for the weight, i advise against higher weight, it is only preference up to a certain point(imo at around 100g) and after that it is just unnecessary and a hindrance.

The Rival is ~108g, the kone XTD Optical ~120g, while the x10 is 120g as well it is a lot smaller(114mm length vs. 135mm), the RAT is 150+g, and the Knossos should be 135g.

Actually I thought the RAT mice were made exactly for both claw and palm grip, with their adjustable side pieces and palm rests, are they not? You say you owned a RAT mouse, what model was it? Your feeling is it forced a more claw-oriented grip?

You might be right about the sensors here, but I'm not looking for the best mouse ever (I know some Logitech/Corsair/Microsoft mice got pretty awesome optical sensors at that), just a fast and precise mouse to play online: I got a wireless Logitech mouse now but I used some pretty high-grade gaming mice in the past and I really miss their feeling of responsiveness and accuracy.

The RAT TE is 90g though. You're very right about the GM4 though (and the Razer and the Cougar also weigh 135g, is there so much difference between 120g and 135g?), but I really don't feel there's any difference between using a light or a heavy mouse, as I don't feel there's any difference between using a smartphone which weighs 80g vs another that weighs 160g. Not an issue, really. :)

Before you even go on more about the RAT... I'm sorry. Mad Catz is the hands-down least reliable company to buy anything from. I would recommend Razer over them and it hurts for me to say this.

If you want "fast and precise" you're kinda saying an oxymoron in itself here sadly. Laser mice are "fast" (mouse accel in all laser mice) and optical mice are generally accurate.

I suggest you go for the Corsair M45 if you want the most accurate sensor and one of the best IMO. Also, the Steelseries Rival seems like it could be up your alley.

And if you can't tell the difference it weights between two mice that might mean you have very heavy, sharp movements with your wrists? I dunno, it's hard to explain and I have much the same problem with this.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Why's that? and for you to recommend Razer they must have treated you pretty badly, ahah

I meant two things with fast: a 2000 DPI mouse and a high polling rate. BTW I already said I'm not looking for the best of the best, I already know which mice are known to be good and reliable, what I was looking for are opinions on customizable mice by people who have actually tried them.

Dunno, I mean, I can tell the difference but I get used to them pretty quickly. Also, even mice which got the same weight feel different in your hands because of their design and the way they weigh (heavier at the front or at the back, etc).. I just think every mouse is unique in this regard, so I don't really care about it.

The design/shape is extremely important though.
