So I would like to apply for some work experience is a pc repairs shop rearby. I was just wondering if you guys had any good ideas that will make me stand out? Some points of notice:-

•I'm not sure if they are actually looking for any help but I'm not looking for any money

•should I contact them via their site or by phone or face to face?

•what kind of things do these people want to know about me? Ie do they care if I swim everyday? Or do they care more that I've built a pc?

•should I send them a link to my psp mods project so they know I'm not a noob or will they not even bother looking :L

Any input is greatly greatly appreciated, you guys rock!

They wont care about your PSP mods but they would like to know that you are trustworthy and responsible. If they are hiring and you want to get hired make sure you meet their requirements and possible exceed them.

I have always found that showing a great enthusiasm to learn is important, employers like open minded employees that are realistic and do not think they already know it all, show that you are confident well grounded with technology but also eager to learn more from others.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

The best thing to do is to contact by phone to set an appointment if you have not done already.
Meeting face to face shows your 'eagerness' and dedication to wanting to work for them , so try to do so if possible.
They'll ask you basic interviewer questions. "Why you want to work here" ,"How is this going to help you in the future" ,etc .(Hope you get the idea)
Just answer truthfully because honestly , you are offering free work to them . They probably only reject if you are retarded during the interview.
Don't need to send anyfiles of your psp mods, cause they prob dont even know how to open it.
I'm pretty sure you can get in if you just try. Once you get in and if you work hard and maybe they will consider hiring you for money$$$

Goodluck
