Custom Loop parts advice

Hey everyone, I am planning out a custom loop for my current build. I will be cooling a gtx780ti and a intel 4770k. I will be building in a enthoo primo case which should give me the ability to use any parts i may need.聽

I am thinking of getting 2 triple 140mm rads 60mm thick for this build. I plan on using compression fittings for all the connections. I am coming here because I am looking for advice on what components to buy as far as brand, parts as i am not very familiar with what is good and what is bad.聽

I would like to include a breather plug in the radiator I plan on mounting to the top of the case and I would also like to include a draining plug in the other rad that will be located somewhere at the bottom of the case.

From what I understand, standard distilled water is best with antibiocidal fluid added and possible a kill coin. Should I use both?

I would like to know what all you guys think in terms of waterblocks for the cpu and gpu, tubing, and rads for this build.聽

Thanks聽

Rads: 2x 420mm Alphacool UT60's

Fittings: Bitspower 1/2 ID 3/4 OD, if you want cheaper get Monsoon compression fittings. They come in 6-packs.

Waterblocks: EK Supremacy EVO for CPU, EK 780 full cover water block for GPU

Drain: Bitspower mini-valve

Tubing: Primochill Advanced LRT 1/2 ID 3/4 OD

Pump: D5

Tube res: either combo with D5 like EK X-RES 140 D5 combo or apart, Bitspower Multi Z-Tank 150

No you do not need both a liquid biocide and a kill coil, one or the other with distilled water will do.

Nice parts list! Make sure the GPU water block is compatible with your GPU. The one you have right now is for GPU's that use the reference PCB but maybe you've already checked that.

Also all EK water blocks come in nickel plated versions too, they're still copper on the inside but the nickel plating helps better protect against the visible effects of water corrosion.

You can get the pump with a pump top so that it increase the head pressure.聽

I actually did't check on the GPU PCB, I Have the EVGA superclocked version.. but it doesnt have a custom cooler or design that i know of. It looks like a reference card at least and im pretty sure it is but am not 100%. I actually did not realize that the PCB design changed that much from mfg to mfg.聽

As far as the pump goes would you recommend the VPP655 you linked over the pump I listed? I only chose the one i did because i figured I could save a few bucks on fittings because the pump has the 1/2" barbs and it will be hidden.

I am thinking about getting this rez simply because i think it looks cool but I want to make sure its a good one before buying..

Yeah, most aftermarket coolers also come with custom PCB's. The EVGA SC does indeed have a reference PCB so you're good there.

Yes, I would take the pump I recommended over the one you choose. Note that unless you're tubing ID is slightly smaller than the pump mouth ID you still need hose clamps to create a good leak-free seal. Ultimately it's up to you, the D5 is also available with one of those black pump housings.聽

Personally, I'd just take this one:聽http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20785/ex-pmp-238/Alphacool_VPP655_Variable_Speed_Pump_-_HF_Top_Edition_-_Acrylic_13139.html#blank聽for example.

Yeah that res is good and pretty popular for its aesthetics. They're a bit too expensive for my taste but it's your choice.

Awesome! I will go with the pump you suggested, I really don't want to cut any corners on this and want it to last a long time. I only have one more question.

Will the 140mm fans that come with the primo work ok for rad cooling? I plan on getting a few more. I don't think its necessary to do a push/pull config nut if you think I should I will

here are the fans if you want to take a look

fan-1272.jpg
Phanteks 140mm x 25mm UFB Bearing PWM Fan w/ Speed Adapter - Black Frame / White Blade (PH-F140XP-BK)

I think these are the same that come with the case.

Yeah they'll work, you don't need push/pull. The UT60's are pretty low fpi. I don't know how quiet the Phanteks fans are but for the extra ones you're buying.聽

These could be better.

These are also really good for the price, when they're back in stock at NewEgg.聽http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-case-fan-rocf11003
