  1. Thanks man, very helpful info
  2. Thanks all, I am going to have to narrow it down frmo the HE 400,HD600/HD650, and the X2. Maybe i should just leave it to a vote.
  3. I am not a bass head or anything but i do like a good punch from the bass. I am ideally looking for something with a "V" sound profile. good for both male and female vocalists, I will be using them for gaming as well.
  4. I have also been looking at the HE-400i, if anyone has any insight on if they are good or not. or the beyerdynamic dt 880
  5. I guess one of the main things I forgot to mention is that I would like a full size over the ear headset, I cannot stand headphone cushions resting on my ears. Also the headset needs to be comfortable, I may spend 4+ hours in a gaming session so comfort is important.
  6. That's what I was looking for haha. I was looking at the creative x7 because of the console stuff. The main reason I mention DAC/AMP is because I have read allot of people saying that they are needed for higher end headphones so that they get the power they need to really shine. The main problem is that there is no place around me where I can try out more expensive headphones. I am actually really glad you mentioned the female vocals thing because allot of the music I listen to have female vocals. I will also check out some of the Beyers. Thanks!
  7. Both consoles have optical out. Again this isn't a huge priority just a extra.
  8. Also any comments on the headset? Are the 650's good or should I be looking in another direction completely
  9. So this is what I'm looking for, not the creative amp.
  10. Hey all, I am looking for a new headset and also an amp/dac combo. The combo thought is not firm, I am open to your suggestions. I will mainly be using the headset for listening to music/games and once in a while a movie. Not sure if it matters but I like Metal most of all. Most of the movies I watch are horror, suspenseful, thriller, or action. I like the "V" style sound profiles (little more bass and clear vocals with somewhat of a flat mid) Please understand I do not know very much about audio. Here is a headset and a DAC/AMP combo just to give you a feel for what i think i want haha. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-650-Headphones/dp/B00018MSNI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 Not sure about these, most reviews seem positive but i have seen some saying the sound profile is "flavored" with bass... (not sure thats what i want for quality audio) http://us.creative.com/p/sound-blaster Please don't lose it if this is a joke product as I do not know much. Seems like it could be ok tho. http://www.modmic.com/collections/frontpage/products/modmic-4-0 I was thinking of getting one of these mod mics just for skype calls/vent. although i would be open to something like a snowball or yeti. All in all i would like to keep the price under 1000 USD if possible. I know this is barely enough to scratch the paint in the audiophile grade headphones but i think it would be a good start for me as I am used to bare bones sound from MOBO. I'm attempting to get into what i guess would be entry level audiophile quality but i could be way off with the budget i have. I also have a PS4 and XBONE for exclusives so if possible i would like to be able to integrate them into the setup but this is not that important to me, it would just be a bonus. Thanks all for the help!

  14. Hey all, I just put together my first custom loop and I'm curious if my temps seem too high. For some loop info: I have 2 triple 140mm rads(420mm) 60mm thick. One top mounted, one bottom mounted. Ek evo blocks on cpu and gpu. I'm running a 4770k @ 4.3 and a 780ti suberclocked edition overclocked @ about 400mhz over stock. All temps seem fine until I run prime95 on the top option which is "highest heat, most intense" at that point it instantly jumps to 70-75 C and stays there. I'm using realtemp to monitor temps. Is this right? Seems high to me because I can run the heaven 3d benchmark @ 1200p max everything and only hit 38 C on the gpu I might just be paranoid but it looks like water is only flowing over the full left side of the cpu block and mostly the outside of the right side of the cpu block. Left is inlet, right out. So am I paranoid or does something soon wrong. Water flow seems good as I can see turbulence in the res At idle and fan speeds at around 550rpm I'm getting 26-33 C on cpu and about 24 C on gpu
  15. Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it!
