URGENT HELP PLS

hi. i have this laptop of my brother. he asked me to transfer some movies and games from my pc to his. i didnt have a usb 3.0 usb or card reader. i have one of the external hard drives reader from one of my old dead external hard drive from sea gate. 

 

now i removed the laptop hd, connected it with that connector of external hd, i.e, made it an external harddrive kinda, and transfered files to that latptop hd. 

 

 

now here is the problem. when i connected it back to the laptop closed all the screws and booted the laptop, it didnt show nothing. no files that i took like 3 hours to copy. i removed the screws and removed it from laptop and connected the same way to my computer and all files are there. 

 

in the laptop the drive where i copied all stuff shows the same space of like 90Gb used where when i copied the content to it, it showd like 190Gb used. what to do now? any solution?

 

sorry for all caps cause my brothers flight is in like 6 hours and he doesnt know shit about pc and these things. help me pls some one what to do?

are you sure they were in the same partition ?

When you say it showed nothing, did it not boot? or did the files you copied over not appear? do you get any error messages? and are they in the same partition?

can you make sure you go to windows manager and see if you have any partition that isn't mapped on your laptop  ?

i think u are not understanding. 

 

the laptop drive has 2 only 2 partitions. its a 500Gb hard drive. the C drive and E drive. 

 

e drive had like only 80Gb of data in it and rest was like 200 Gb available space BEFORE EVERYTHING. 

 

i removed it from latpop, connected it via a seagate external hard drive connector and used its USB 3 cable to connect to pc and transfered some 150Gb of data to it. 

 

 

then i removed it from that connector and installed it back to the laptop. the laptop booted just normal and fine and showed the same 2 drives, C and E.

 

now the space should have been decreased in E cause of the new data of 150Gb i put into it right? but it didnt show. neither the files,  i removed it again from latop and same way connected to pc and all fiels are there with 150Gb space also used. 

 

why files not showing on laptop and showing on the pc?

well, fuck me. i deleted this folder named $recyclebin and now the drive is not fucntioing at all. when i connect to laptop it does nothing and when connect to pc it does not even let my pc run which is to boot from  850 Pro

can some one help me with this? how to fix it? 

 

now when i boot the laptop nothing happens only the acer logo appears. i can not even see the setup or boot menu option F2 or Del. 

 

when i connect it to pc via SATA cable, my PC gets jammed. nothing happens and its just stopped. nothing happens, although my windows is installed on 850 Pro.

 

can some one help me? and yeah i can see it in the  Disk management after like 15 min of opening it. can some one help me or is it dead?

so i closed the laptop lid and now when i open it, im in the blue menu where all the hardware info is, i.e its like the BIOS settings. i CAN SEE WD Blue WDC WD500LPVXTT0

 

pls guys help me, i dont want to go to local repair shops, they charge almost as much as the drive costs to fix them. and its way too far from my house

Well, it might be that your removal of that directory screwed up your windows install on the

Laptop C: drive.

Also, is the partition you copied that data to NTFS? And what version of Windows are you running

on your brother's laptop and your own PC?

I have found NTFS to be rather susceptible to filesystem corruption when used as an external

drive, so I would recommend running the chkdsk utility on both partitions of your brother's

laptop drive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CHKDSK).

Also, if you're running different versions of Windows on the two machines, there might be

issues introduced on that front (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-8-Introduces-New-NTFS-Health-Model-and-chkdsk-268766.shtml).

That's just a guess though, I haven't really familiarized myself too closely with the topic

since I mostly use Linux.

As for your main PC not booting when the laptop drive is plugged in, have you tried going

into the BIOS and force-booting from your Samsung 850? It could be that your PC is confused

by the Windows install on the external drive.
