Best game-pad for PC

I am looking at game-pads for my PC but I don't know which one should I pick. can anyone recommend me a game-pad which needs to be under 40 dollars.

The xbox wired controller for pc is great.

I use a wireless 360 controller with the adapter.

Yea the Xbox controller works great, if your running windows 8 its just plug and play, even if your not its a small driver install and your away.

if you prefer playstation 3 controllers you can take one of those and emulate it as an xbox 360 controller. works pretty well =)

Any of the Xbox 360 controllers. It doesn't have to be the official microsoft one.

I really like my Logitech F710 because I prefer the Playstation-style layout to the Xbox one (analogue stick positions mainly). It does come with software, but I just use it without and with the stock Windows drivers.
