Hey guys,

In these days, I'm thinking about getting a new monitor and a GPU soonish. But I'm not sure if I should get a G-sync or a freesync monitor. To my understanding the only real difference between the two is that freesync is cheaper and easier to implement in a monitor, than G-sync is. I know that nvidia makes the 'best' GPUs. But I don't think that nvidia will implement freesync anytime soon, if ever. So here's my dilemma I want a monitor with freesync, but I want nvidia GPUs. So What should I pick? Freesync with AMD GPU, or G-sync with Nvidia GPU? I have a gtx 670 for the time being, but as I mentioned earlier I would like to get a new GPU soonish, so this is kinda a future choice, but what would you choose, and why?

My setup: i5 3570K  - Corsair H100i - MSI Z77 GD65 - 256 GB Samsung 840 pro SSD - Corsair AX760i - Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 2GB - 4x4 GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RAM - Corsair Carbide 500R (modded side window)

Well since you are going to get a new GPU, get that before deciding on the monitor.

Right now we don't know if Freesync will be as good as Gsync (although it wouldn't make sense to introduce a new inferior solution)

Freesync monitors are not available right now, and introductory models are sure to be expensive (as much as Gsync monitors) due to initial spike in demand.

In the long run Freesync monitors will turn out cheaper than Gsync as long as manufacturers aren't douchebags who take the whole margin.

That is true, but if manufactures will do that, then there wouldn't be a doubt in my mind, at I would pick the Nvidia and G-sync. Unless freesync is better, and justifies the 'extra cost' :)
