Here is my pc from a mini air cooled system all the way up to full size watercooled system feel free to let me know what you think of my pc and any suggestions on how to make it better i have added a list below of future mods which i know need to be done and will hopefully get around to finishing the build.

CPU: Intel 4770K

CPU Cooling: Custom watercooling (dual 360mm rads)

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16gb 2400mhz

GPU: Asus Strix 980 watercooled

Case: Corsair 780T Black Version

Storage: Corsair 240gb SSD,Seagate 2TB,Hitachi 1TB

PSU: Corsair RM850

Case Fans:Corsair AF140 x3 + AF120 x3

Keyboard:Corsair Vengeance K95

Mouse:Corsair Vengeance M65 RGB FPS 8200 DPI + Razer Destructor 2 mouse pad

Monitors:Samsung 32inch 2560x1440p  SD850 S32D850T / AOC 27inch 1920x1080p

Headset: Sound Blaster Omega Wireless Headset

**Future Plans**

:Red sleeved cables

:Backplate for the gtx980

:2x 480gb ssd's in raid 0

:Add another GTX 980+waterblock+backplate

:Change to hard tubing

:Add another 16gb ram to system (same kit as i have now)

So this was the first stage of this computer couple parts have changed since obviously but this was the original build with my current cpu

i was running 8gb corsair value select ram...lol and a reference gtx 780 which i sold to a mate but was a great overclocker and had a 620watt high current gamer psu

Then i'm not really sure why i decided i wanted to go to a slightly larger case because i never thought i would be watercooling but i did....

Pretty much just changed case and added some blue led lights was good for awhile but i think i got over the look of the bitfenix

977153_10152094554238957_791534227_o_zps

Then went to a Corsair 750D which i loved that case look excellent! and went with the green on the gpu card logo so changed to full size board with some green on it (gigabyte sniper)

Then i wasn't happy with the single card in such a big case and decided to sell my 780 and move to 2x gigabyte gtx 760 oc 4gb cards and a psu to suit

1902977_10153295285583957_60917341953679

Had some issues with sli and got sick of driver crashes etc during bf4 and they were overclocked from factory but i wanted to push them harder and they wouldn't have it soooo i was done with them! (will try find more pics of them installed)

And now we are here i kept the psu from my sli build got myself a GTX 980 Strix, corsair dominator 2400mhz 16gb ram and went to a corsair 780T

only reason for case change was the 750D was abit damaged in certain spots from going to lan events so decided to try something different and go for a red and black theme instead of having tonnes of random colours and now the latest addition to the machine is watercooling which i will get around to listing spec but it is dual 360mm rads single pump and watercooling cpu and gpu

Make your own Corsair sticker for that psu or just rip it off and then for the brackets up at the top if you can do something about that blue do it.  A nice tidy build though. Definitely not something I would spend time doing or putting money into just to get that tidy look.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Good idea i will get rid of the sticker and if i could find a red/black one that would be better.

In regards to the blue near the brackets if im looking at the right thing it was just a reflection from my tv there's no blue lights in the pc only to 2 small white led's on the gpu above the power connectors.

I never thought i would spend money for the tidy look but i buy a thing everynow and again and then eventually put it together kind of a fun hobby if you get into it any ways thanks for the feedback.

Nice but cable management could be done better.

Yep It's getting redone as said above....

Thank you and yes i will i was thinking of just waiting to post this but i figured i could do a update later on and with better quality pictures.

Are you Going to Pain your case any?

It looks a but dull and I would be awesome to see like a big Asus label on the non windowes side or maybe just some accent paint.

**Watercooling Begins**

2x 360mm radiators

1x pump

1x 270mm reservoir

1x gtx 980 strix waterblock

1x cpu waterblock

Clear tubing with red fluid

A few pictures of at the start with some of the components just been unboxed to pretty much done then testing for leaks etc

Been a few days now with no leaks temps are great on both gpu and cpu with idle anywhere from 23-30 degrees depending on room temps

Next will be some overclocking.

Thank you it's good to know people like it because it takes alot of time and money but definitely worth the effort you should totally do it!.......one day =)

Custom cables and another 980 would make this build even better! Good job!

Yeah im definitely looking into custom cables but after fitting all the water cooling gear in yesterday might be abit before ripping all the cables out again to redo and i would love another 980 to finish the build off so maybe down the track.

i thought that you wouldve gotten a 4790k instead of the 4770k, each to their own

i actually have had this cpu for ages so i just kept using that didn't feel there was any point going to the 4790k

that makes sence then, if you already had it that it saves you a good couple hundred dollers

Indeed it does more money to put into the next 980....maybe

Well i tried out overclocking the 980 and this is what i have stable at the moment not sure if i should go higher or not i will continue to fiddle with it and see what i can reach

is this a decent overclock for a 980?

  • 2 weeks later...

^^^ Added a Future plans list at start of build ^^^ feel free to give me ideas im unsure if im going to upgrade cpu to 4790k or just stick with the current one and if i should add any LED's to inside of case i don't want it to be overpowering and just turn everything red so unsure if i should do that or just leave it

Looking into hard tubing as well but will hold off till i get another 980 in the future to fit all at once!
