Hey fellow nerds ;)!

I have a MSI Geforce Gtx 590 in my system

And the problem I have with this card, is that it gets extremely hot when playing, for example, Battlefield 3 on Ultra ( Which it handles fine with solid 75-80fps ) Though the problem is ( as you've read in the title of this thread ) Is that it has MAJOR cooling problems. When playing a graphic-demanding game like Battlefield 3, it tends to go up to 83 degrees Celsius ( Calculated using MSI-Afterburner ) and where the max temperature of the card is 85 degrees Celsius.

If somebody could recommend a third-party cooler that fits the 590, it would be fantastic! ( Notice that I live in Europe and anything from America/Canada is a no-go )

Hope you guys can help me out on my "little" issue :)!

Regards, Eladarian.

apparently the 590 usually runs this hot, I don't think itll hurt anything, is watercooling out of the question?

i have a gtx590 too. I installed two 140mm fans underneath it to support the airflow. Now i get the same heatoutput (games 79-83°C) but its much quieter now.

that 590 is already quite heavy as it is now.putting that gigantic aftermarket cooler (if it even fits) will only further sag the pcb and put more strain on your pci-e slot. i suggest you try replace the thermal paste with something like MX-4 or even coollaboratory liquid ultra. you'll see at least 5-10 degrees temp reduction there alone. I did the same thing with my oc'd 560ti. used to hit around 88c. now it only peaks around 76c

But by getting it liquid-cooled, doesn't that cost a ton, since you need pipes, and all that stuff. Wouldn't it just be in general better to just buy a new card?

owh no.actually that coolaboratory liquid pro is just a fancy name for this thermal paste. it is made out of liquid metal and has the best thermal conductivity among all other thermal paste. it is not a liquid cooling solution. ;)

The GTX 590 is a power hungry card, and power hungry cards generally throw out plenty of heat, the 590 was no exception.

Short term options you could replace the TIM on the chips, you may see a improvement.

Water-cooling is always an option, although you might find you will be dropping a fair bit of cash to setup a loop.
