Microsoft: The Comeback Kid

Nope. It's free for everyone; even on a VM you can download it and use it on as many Macs as you want.

The last version to cost money was Mountain Lion ($19), and since then Mavericks and Yosemite have been completely free for all. :D

Never really liked Microsoft growing up. Always thought their products were mediocre.

I do like the direction they are heading in though.

They did; it was bought back in 2013. Forgot about that!

And they're not PCs, but they still make a fair chunk of money (and Windows Phone and soon-to-be Windows 10 on Xbox still count)

They didn't afaik. They just loaned money to the Michael so that he could buy all the shares. Microsoft don't actually own any shares in Dell. Dell is now privately owned by Michael.

I am a gamer, not because I don't have a life, but because I choose to have many.

Quite. The entire point of that whole deal was that Michael Dell would bring Dell back into a Privately Owned Company. No shares. No shareholders. No stocks.

Microsoft would be considered a private investor in this situation. They may have some say, depending on the deal they made with Michael Dell, but that's about it. They'll earn money on their investment, but they don't get a straight up share of the profits.
