Hi guys I'm thinking about buying this pc but I'm not sure if the h100i is worth the extra money to cool and if it is worth the risk because it is water cooled, I'm not planing on overclocking atm but may in the future I just want a nice cool system that will be reliable and last.(will probably add a gpu later on)

  • Should I change the h100i to a air cooler?
  • Should I stay with stock cooling if not overclocking?
  • Is the h100i reliable e.g leak
  • Should I remove the h100i and go with a cheaper air cooler and upgrade my psu now instead of in the future when I get a GPU?
  • Is the h100i esy to install?

Your opinions would be appreciated :)

(don't hate first time build and want something decent)

Thanks Sam

The H100i isn't going to suddenly explode on you, but it tends to have mounting issues so I would avoid it and get something like the Kraken X41. The PSU is perfectly fine if you're going with a single graphics card in your system.

Any reason why the Kracken would be better doesn't the corsair one have two 120s  appose to one 140?

Is it easy to install and can I put led fans onto the cooler if I wanted to and if so which ones would you recommend ?

Yes it is straightforward to install. You can put led fans on it if you want. Bitfenix do the Spectre range which are pretty good. You also have the Corsair SP range.  Any 120mm led fan with decent static pressure will be fine. Get a PWM type fan so that the motherboard controls the speed.

Something like this would be ok - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-105-BX&groupid=701&catid=2331&subcat=4

If there is no immediate plan to overclock, the stock cooler should do just fine. You could go with the Hyper 212 EVO as @lee32uk suggested. It is inexpensive. Will run quieter than the stock cooler. And, will allow for a reasonable overclock should that ever be desired.

H100i is pretty reliable. But its lifespan is shorter than an air tower like the Hyper 212 EVO.

Get the best psu that fits in the budget. (Not necessarily the largest.) A good psu will deliver clean power which leads to more stable operation and longer component life.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
