HyperX Cloud Vs SteelSeries Siberia V2

Go to solution Solved by MaxBunny,

My ModMic 4.0 that I'm returning tomorrow may in fact sound worse than the mic on my Turtle Beach x12 headset I used previously, I highly doubt that Zalman clip on will sound any better.

ModMic isn't known for being a quality mic, it's just branding and the attaching feature that people like + the windshield. The Zalman is fine as long as you run it on a push-to-talk setting. Very clear.

And @ OP - Either works fine, but at just a 4 quid price difference the HyperX Clouds are better. Normally it's $20 more so there'd be a reason to consider the Siberia. But here there's only one choice for you.

Hi, I'am in to competitive gaming and I was just wondering which headset would be better for gaming hearing footstep, communicating with my team etc?

Best headphones for for hearing footsteps and the like are the Audio Technica AD700x or AD900x. Between the two options you presented the Cloud's are easily the choice. The V2s are not that great in terms of quality, and they also experience lots of problems with onboard sound.
