$6000 AUD? Why not get X99 and 980's?

I have thought of going x99 but when i price it I end up around $700 over budget. I am considering selling my z97 setup to help cover the extra cost though.

Im talking basic X99, not 5960X

With a 5820k 16gb Corsair Dominator Ram and asus delux mobo it comes in at $6780

I use DDR4 LPX and it works great. The 2666 kit even has a 2800 setting. Dominator is overkill, as is my ROG board.
