Hello I'm building a pc in about a month and I would like some tips on optimal air cooling. I am using a corsair spec 01 case and I am going to 2 fans and the power supply. I have included a picture showing all the fan mounting positions including the position of the power supply on the bottom. If you guys could give tips on where to place the fan and whether to have the fans in push or pull. Thanks zw1DYbj.png

Having the front as intake and either the top or rear as exhaust is the best option. If you can, I would advise putting two fans in the front and getting another fan to put at the top or rear for exhaust. Will give you better airflow and keep slight positive air pressure.

Are you using the stock cpu cooler?

How many AF120's do you have? What about the stock fans?

Stock CPU Cooler

1 AF120

1 Fan that comes with the case

Just keep the stock case fan where it is and have the AF120 as rear exhaust.

What about the Power supply, do I put the fan up or down?

Have it face down.

If your are going to place your PC on the floor then i would advise to put it the PSU fan facing upwards.

Otherwise as it's already been mentioned, use the top as passive exhaust (hot air rises) and rear as fan exhaust with a single airflow fan in the front.

When in doubt: C4

Are there any cons for having the power supply up?

Worse cooling for the psu.

Looking at your case it doesn't look like it has tall feet, therefore putting it on a carpet would yield less airflow to the PSU. This can easily be prevented by turning the fan upwards.

If you're going to put the PC on something hard like a table etc. then i would face the fan downwards so it doesn't have to 'battle' the GPU for air, and sucking slightly hotter air from the case in instead of cold air from the outside.

it doesn't matter much, choose whatever you like, it's not going to make any big difference.

Its gonna be on the floor but its not carpet, but since the rear is gonna be exhaust I'll have the PSU downwards. The only reason why I wanted to know cause the bottom has a filter for the psu but not for the back so I was gonna put the filter on the back but since it is gonna be an exhaust I'll have the filter where it is supposed to be. I was just worried cause I got a dusty house and I don't like dusty pcs.
