R9 280 ports

dlaws18

Sorry if this is a really stupid question. My new R9 280 has two 6 pin sockets on it but my semi-modular powersupply only has one 6 pin socket pre-installed. Do i need to plug the other 6 pin socket into the powersupply?

Thanks

are you sure that those 6 pin which are pre-installed aren't the CPU ones, 'cause in most modular PSU there's no GPU pin's pre-attached

Yes it comes with a cpu power cable and 1 gpu connector which is 6 pin with another 2 pins that are slightly detached
