So i'm here because i built a computer recently for somebody and they loved it. As i have a late 2011 macbook pro i would love an upgrade and want to get into pc gaming and things. What i need to be able to do is photo edit, game, and record video possibly and more. It just needs to be all round great i feel. I am interested in more things but those are what i would be doing for sure. So i am posting my other build as a comparison of what i want a little bit so you can suggest stuff similar to what i want and everything. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/clayton677/saved/HMZrxr

Any build you think is what i'm looking for would be great to see!! or any specific parts you like and suggest would be great. I have not done a lot of research on AMD yet and am in the early stages of building my build so ill take any suggestions right now.

I was thinking AMD if it was a little cheaper but similar or better capabilities. For intel i probably would get an i74790k or the i54690k if i need to save money. My price range is not really set yet but i do NOT want to spend more than what the other computer i built cost. With the graphics its about the same, something similar or better.

I'd go with the 4790k and a cheaper power supply, unless if electricity is incredibly expensive for you.

Much agree.

Sig under construction.

It does not include OS, monitor or peripherals. My total budget is about the same as the other build thats in the description but cheaper if posable. location?

Or save an extra $100~ and get a 4690k as the two will perform virtually the same in most games as most games can't utilize more than four threads (although, thats starting to change but by the time it matters DX12 will make up for the difference anyway).

AMD is better performance for the money for GPU, but for CPU, Intel is still the best.

Why does everybody think they need 980's? For gaming, you DON'T need an 8GB frame buffer. It's not worth the expense. 970 or bust.

Why does everybody think they need 970's? If you have decent airflow and PSU, you DON'T need Maxwell, it's not worth the expense. 290 or bust.

No peripherals and why Force LS?

No peripherals and why Force LS?

It's only a bit more expensive than the alternative right now, and after rebates it's cheaper.
