gpu overheating

hello guys I just bought a sapphire r9 270x dualx.The card is idling at 39c and I play metro last light it goes to 86c.For sniper elight it is at 73c.NO crashes or artifacts.Is the card overheating.Is it faulty.I used msi afterburner and set custom fan profile now itz about 80c.

During stress testing with furmark it crossed 95 c and I shut it down.

you'll be okay, get rid of the custom fan profile though, let msi afterburner manage fan speeds

I agree with soaringchicken to an extent. I never let my 970 get over 65 deg, it's easier to replace fans then pay 350 bucks for a new card. But then again my 970 hovers around 55 deg c under load. guess I got a cherry in a batch of lemons.

are you sure sir.I have only 2 days left for the replacement period of my online retailer to end.Are these temps normal?

I know the R series runs a bit warm, but that's a bit much for that cooler. Possibly a bad mount or too much thermal paste from the factory.
