CPU or GPU upgrade opinions?

Current system-

Phenom II X4 955 3.2ghz (non black edition)

650 Ti BOOST 2GB

8gb 1333 DDR3

I've got around $200 to spend. I would like some opinions. Looking at getting either the FX-8350, or the EVGA 960 SSC.

I'd wait until you could do a proper upgrade to an i5 and i'd also get an R9 280/x or R9 285 instead of a 960.

285 is also an option.

I always love seeing people say "just save up a couple hundred more for a I5 and new movo"

An FX 8350 isn't much of an upgrade

Yeah, but when people say they have a certain amount to spend and perhaps want it now. Give ideas of what they could get now. Just my little rant, no hate :)

They could either upgrade to something slightly better and waste their money, or wait and upgrade to something much better.

Regardless, an upgrade to an i5 or to a better gpu would be around $200 each, and depending on what games he plays would determine which he should do first. For games like BF4 the gpu upgrade (especially with the help of Mantle) would be the better choice. If he wants to play games like Arma 3, then the cpu would be the better choice.
