144hz or Gsync

Should i buy a 144hz or gsync monitor, is gsync really worth it?, or do 144hz work fine?

 

The reason why i ask is because i have lag in far cry 4/ac black flag (yeeh for ubisoft) with my 60 hz monitor, but i have close to 60 fps, what will help me most, 144hz or gsync?, My friend have the same system as me, but run smooth, he got a 144 hz.

I would go G-Sync, you don't need to get 90-140fps to benefit from it

I'd say get a g-sync, it'll give more reliable smooth video. And as your hardware ages and you may not be able to push 144fps, whereas a g-sync will again continue to give smooth video

Is your friend playing at a different resolution? With lower game settings? Is your PC chock full of background apps?

 

The only available Gsync monitor that is not 144Hz is a 4K panel I think...

 

In 1920x1080, same settings.

All 1080p monitors thatvhave g sync are 144hz capable. IMO you ahould get one of those.

I would go with G-Sync.

And @Astorrin G-Sync isn't an game's engine API. It's a module in the monitor adjusting it's dynamic fresh rate according your ingame frames per second.

I just heard that if games that jump down to 40-30 fps, it will feel like 40-30 fps, is that still smoother then vsync/vsync off 30 fps ?

Why do some people say that 40 fps gsync feels like 60 fps then ?

GSync isn't done through the game. It's a module within the monitor itself which communicates with the graphics card.

Thanks All, i wanted to be sure, there is a lot of People that hate gsync (maybe AMD fans?) i will buy A gsync monitor now, and Hope for the Best.

Lol no one hates Gsync new tech is always good, and it works. But what people might not like is how Nvidia keeps everything proprietary.

It will soon be over as AMD Freesync monitors come out soon.

It does basically the same thing as Gsync, but is cheaper to implement and AMD isn't keeping it exclusive like a selfish bastard.

Only for AMD graphic card? I Notice that some sites says that nvidia support it, but i dont trust that heh.
