Is it worth upgrading from a 19" to a 23/24" monitor?

As the title says, been to look at a few 23/24" monitors and apart from they are a bit wider most of them are no taller than my 19".

 

So is it a worthwhile upgrade or should I go for a 27" monitor?

It is, especially when you get a monitor with a higher resolution.

If you are sticking to 1080p, then 24" is the biggest I would go, if you have a decent enough PC, 27" 1440p is the sweet spot for performance and pixel density and size

 

Are you using a 19" square monitor? if so its a massive difference in screen space, if its 19" widescreen its still worth it :D

I upgraded from 15.6" 720p to 24" 1080p, that was definitely worth it.

 

27", only if you do 1440p or 4K. The ppi on 27" 1080p monitors isn't that good.

then it will be like the bottom image, you should gain height and width

But being 1920 x 1080 doesn't help? What would be a good 27" monitor for around $200... I may be able to get one in local stores...

well you can get 1920x1080 on a 22/24" screen which is MUCH smarter, I doubt there are any good 27" monitors at that price, sorry 

 

I would personally stick with a good 24" than a poor 27"

So 1440p would be ideal for a 27" monitor? I'm trying to find a monitor that is a good resolution and preferably a 27" as.. I like big.. ;)

1440p is perfect
