whats wrong with 960?

it's 3% faster than a 760...it's slower than a r9 280 which is available for 149$ on some site right now and this one ship with 3GB of VRAM on a wider bus and is just plain better...etc.

the GTX 960 is in fact the successor to the GTX 750ti IMHO and it should be 159$ tops and it should ship with 3GB of VRAM on a wider memory bus.

This card is crippled as possible and it's way overpriced right now.

BTW nvidia experience is now working again...but the GTX 960 still sucks and hasnt dropped in price yet.

I just updated 4 hours ago, and it works fine on my GTX 770. You might need to reinstall it. Ill update my other rigs and see if they run into any problems.

Its launch price so it should drop down in few months.

But when I look it again it is overpriced.

I want to see what prices amd will stick to their next gpus.

Nice to hear its working. Sadly, it did not seem to fix any of the issues i was having with Shield streaming. I doubt shield streaming will ever get fixed properly from what i and others have been experiencing lately. Oh well, i guess we wait another month or two for Nvidia to try again.

Nvidia has pretty much dropped support of the original Shield (now called the Shield Portable, that is another complaint for another time) to the point in which we are still waiting for an update that the Shield tablet users got over a month ago. Not to mention that every model suffers from loud button clicks, which tend to be annoying to the people around you. I paid $250 for mine in December of 2013 and it came with all of the accessories in that $250 bundle. Most Android apps do not support the shield, because it is stuck in portrait mode at all times, and using programs to rotate the screen only cut things off the screen.

I could not recommend the current Shield Portable to anyone simply because its intended use has yet to be completely ironed out. One day, you have an enjoyable experience, the next day you get massive frame loss. Still, its a pretty neat device over all, just with Nvidia would do more with it.

My 760 is faster than a 960, LOLS.

not quite...but close enough. From the benchmarks that i have seen the 960 is around 3 to 5% faster.

I think nvidia is highly over rated, over hyped and over dramatized. I guess that's why they spend Millions more than AMD trying to make people "Believe in magic" LOL.

they have great technologies and they provide high-end efficient chips...they are the best to be honest...but when they launch a low-end card at the price of a mid-range one and call it the GTX 960 when it's in fact a GTX 950ti that pisses me off!

I would not say they are the best when all thing are consider. I dont use useless software so I rather go with an R9 290 because it offers me similar performance for the money and powerful hardware for the money and lots of free games that I would otherwise have to pay for.

you consider the WHOLE deal including the free games...i consider NVIDIA as being NVIDIA...much more energy efficient GPU's that overclock a lot better and have better driver supports and much better features and technologies built in them...there's no competition if you look only at GPU performance honestly...AMD is lagging behind significantly right now...not as much as in the CPU department but they better get their shit straight now and launch a GPU that is not a 300W chip...a beefed up hawaii board would be a very bad idea cause this IMHO is already as huge and inneficient a GPU should ever be.

I don't consider a last Gen GPU still being competitive with a current gen GPU as significantly behind LOL.

it's not all about raw performance...

in terms of technology involved...power consumption...driver stabilty...features available...softwares...etc. yes it's significantly behind nvidia high-end offerings right now including kepler cards.

AMD and nvidia drivers are amazingly stable now in days LOL. I don't see how you are trying to beef up nvidia beyond reality here LOL. The AMD Omega driver has been an absolute joy for me IMH experience with it.

i'm not...i owned an R9 280 and it did suffer a lot from micro-suttering in some games and it still does and AMD take lot more time to release driver updates to support new titles and get better performance and with nvidia the driver releases at launch of every new AAA titles that hit the market and they auto-update through nvidia experience which is awesome and come with shadow play to record footage or save your best gaming sessions and this also works awesome.

Trust me on this, it's day and night...just like before you bought your intel CPU and you tried to convince others that AMD CPU where beast you rememeber...it's kind of the same with GPU's honestly AMD are still peasant but they have strong GPU's where as they don't have fast gaming CPU's...but the AMD flagship cards are kind of like the FX in that they are old in their architecture and they consume a ton of power for no good reasons.

I dont use crap like Geforce Experience or the AMD version of it cause I am a pro power user and not a noob. With AMD I get great performance for the money, Free Games and the one additional offer that I do like to use is the far better video playback image quality with AMD because I watch a movie from time to time.
