pc wont turn off

Hey, i juwt built my gaming pc, and somtime it doesnt turn off when i tell it to shut down, it says shutting down, and then just pops back to the desktop, i was told it might be a psu or mobo issues, how would i go about testing that?

right click on desktop> New> Shortcut > type *Shutdown.exe -s -t 00* (without asterisks) into location > name what ever you like > finish

that fixes the not shutting fown probablem, but i still dont know why it wont shutdown

You have processes in the background probably and they don't close quickly and stuff. Maybe you have a slow HDD? Or malware?

I scaned for malware with malwarebytes, and nothing pips up,my hdd is 1tb barracuda, not the best, but not slow, and it probably is background processes, but idk which ones to close

Just go to task manager and go to the processes tab. I have only essential tasks running for the most part. Just make sure not to end the processes on this list with the exception of a few. The ones on this list you can still end without harm would be Firefox, Nvidia backend, Nvidia settings, Skype, snipping tool, Microsoft pen and touch input. Those are in the descriptions. End one at a time while remembering what was the last one closed and try to shut down after each process you stop and that should narrow it down to your culprit or culprits. Boot up in safe mode and then turn it off, try it maybe? If everything is OK, there could be a process that is being your problem
