I personally am glad that DICE is embracing 64-bit over 32-bit, but not even supporting 32-bit seems foolish.

I am excited to see how the new Frostbite engine performs on PC; anyone else?

Get moar ASAP :P

I can't stand 4gb anymore, I have it on my laptop and its already running at like 60% ram usage without games, imagining a modern gaming PC with 4gb of ram is kinda hard at this point.

When I play BF3 I get up around 6gb of ram usage...

(I'm waiting for someone to say something about my Windows 7 being the fault of 6gb of ram usage...)

Yeah, you're probably right, but this does make it look like they are developing for 64-bit systems first, which is interesting.

Really?  I thought a lot of games didn't support 64-bit.  If that's true, then great!  I love devs working on 64-bit as the primary environment.

If they have been, they why doesn't Chrome have a 64-bit Windows version yet? (grumble)

uhhh no, any modern game supports 64bit i think and why would you need a 64bit browser?

I'm not talking about support, I'm talking about something being designed for it.  I am running a 64-bit system, but many programs only have a 32-bit version which, though functional, doesn't take advantage of the 64-bit architecture.

Seriously guys - the title of the thread is "BF4 - Alpha / Beta System Requirements" - NOT: "What is better between windows 8 and windows 7?". Please try to keep the discussion to BF4 requirements, and not turn this into an argument about what OS is better. I've already had to remove over a page worth of bickering.

I guess they have selected those specific requirements since they don't need as much testing for windows 8 and 32bit... or it could also be that they haven't got it all that stable for windows 8 and they are trying to slowly move away from 32bit but hey that is just my assumption which most likely won't be true and they will have those aspects supported in full release and most likely in beta.

The BF4 benchmarks that were posted seems that this game is really gpu intensive. A 7950 could only run at 30 frames.1005271_595972810443319_220871725_n.jpg
