Best torrent client?

I recently re-installed Windows 8.1 and I haven't installed a torrent client yet. In the past I've used TransmissionQT but I think I'm going to go with qBittorrent this time around.

what do you guys recommend?

 

As far as I know this thread does not violate section 6, 7 nor the Core Values of the CoC. Torrent software is not illegal in North America, but if there is an issue I will be happy to take down this thread.

uTorrent is a close second.

I used Transmission-Qt which is a Windows port of Transmission

 

I don't like uTorrent. it's closed source adware

That is not true. Transmission-qt is the same thing on Windows (from the same devolpers and codebase). http://sourceforge.net/projects/trqtw/

 

As you said though, I love transmission and use it across all platforms. bittorrent is my second place, but I really dislike the adds on it.

Ah. Didn't know about that! But yeah, Transmission is a lot lighter of a program and doesn't have ads or extra features I'll never need.

Transmission-qt for basic torrenting, lightweight with very clean ui.

 

Deluge or Qbittorrent if you want more features and a more utorrent-like ui.

 

Tixati is another option if you don't use private trackers (its banned from most of them because it has a feature that allows it to spoof itself as another client).
