Well, since I switched from FX-6100 to i5 I've been a lot happier, so I can't stop praising Intel's processors...

 

You'll probably get better value with the FX though. Change mobo though. 760G is horrible. I've been down that route.

Similar gaming performance, far better upgrade path. Can throw an i5 or i7 and aftermarket cooling on there. Just watch out, the motherboard may need a BIOS update.

A dual core that's as good and sometimes better than an FX 6300 in gaming... I too know how to use an elipsis.
