dual channel ram doesn't work

I can't figure out why my computer is not able to run dual channel. I built a PC a while back but whenever I try to change the ram to dual channel it starts beeping continuously when I try to boot.
System specifications:
Intel core I5-3470
8 GB of DDR3 RAM(4GB×2)(1333MHz)
Nvidia GeForce 605
1 Corsair force 3 90GB SSD
1 Seagate 320GB HDD
Acer X3995 motherboard
Please help

Are both RAM sticks the same? Did they come together?

Are they the same frequency?

 

Did you install the sticks in dual channel configuration when you built the PC?

the ram sticks were in dual channel when I built it but the ram sticks are the same frequency but did not come together

That might be the issue.

RAM with the same frequency but different brand is not guaranteed to work in sync.

 

That sucks man, I had a similar issue when I built my first PC.

Just have your parents get a dual channel kit, or look into matching up their specs in bios one by one, so they work together.

You're pretty much going to have to run with 4gb of ram until you can get a 2x4gb kit. Its not that bad though, I was running 4gb ram for the last four years.

if mismatch RAM dont work

 

buying another 4GB stick will not help solve the issue

 

OEM mobos BIOS will spit back at you and refuse to boot up with different RAM in rare cases

 

i say either go for a single 8GB stick or 2 piece RAM kits
