drag and drop between PC

hey guys i'm looking for a way to drag and drop files between my PCs on my network

entire hard drive not folder like in home network

If you are using computers with Vista/7/8 use Homegroups. No need to set up a NAS or anything of the sorts. Its built into windows lol

Nothing out there will help you share your entire hard drive (at lest not securely) Whats wrong with just dragging select files/folders you want over to the other computer? A NAS would have the same issue as you would need to upload select files and folders to the NAS for you to then have to go and download on the other computer.

you can set your HDD or a Partition of your HDD as a network Drive,

 

just right click on it and select sharing and advanced sharing and share the disk.

 

and then on the other PC on your network just map a network drive, right click on My PC on file explorer

you need the IP address and the path to that drive.

I said securely. Thats not secure at all. I sure as hell wouldn't want anyone connected to my wifi being able to have access to my drive just using a simple IP.

i got it to work now but the speed are slow 20 - 30MB/s

What were you sharing? If you do a lot of individual files the speed is going to be slower. Large files as ISOs, archives or videos do better in transmission.

 

Check the cabling whether it has Gigabit on every part of the chain. I had 60 megabytes to disk and 70 to ssd over Gigabit Ethernet, large archives.
