Try reinserting them and trying one at a time/different slots

is ur ram ecc?

Any bent CPU/Mobo pins?

Is the ram fully seated?

Have you tried to reseat your ram or if you have multiple dims try booting with each one to see if one is dead.

I am the one who goes bump in the night... usually making a sandwich.

i have tried with both on different slots.. do you think it might be that they are dead? i brought them with me from travels so that could be a possibility

yes it is!

remove cpu and see very carefully for bent pins, if you don't see any, just reinsert the cpu

ok i will.. i think i will wait until the morning no point of doing it tired..

good choice, i once removed a 4770K off a Maximus VII hero and ended up bending almost 4 pins without knowing till the morning

Don't know what else to tell you. If you follow everyone else's suggestions and it's still a no-go, then you might want to RMA the board.
