External graphics amplifier/booster

Hello.

I have seen the new(ish) Alienware graphics amplifier as well as msi's version. Both for gaming laptops of coarse. I am very interested with this in regards to if Asus will release their own version.

Also what is your opinion of the graphics amplifier for laptops.

Get desktop.

Laptops are good because they can be carried around. You wont be able to carry that around with that "booster"

Get a desktop and a normal laptop or ultrabook.

gaming desktop plus portable but decent processor laptop tend to be the best choices

I would love to have a desktop but I actually take my laptop with me to game on at different places very regularly.

So I take it that the graphics amplifiers are not well received so far.

I have also read that the card you choose to use in the amplifier does not perform the same as if we're on an actual motherboard. Thoughts and opinion on that?

Get a powerful desktop and a cheap laptop. The work done on a laptop is mostly text based and the hardware included for "high end" laptops are peasant mid quality plus laptop gamers are treated as second class citizens in this niche.
