Any info, other than coming 2016?

Will it be enthusiast like x99, or more like the regular 2011 CPUs, or what?

And ddr4?

The world may never know, but I am sure it will use ddr4.

There is also rumors that it is x86, but that is just rumors.

stick with your current system, and if you can pick up a better mobo to overclock then go for it, as zen will probably use DDR3, possibly DDR4 if we're lucky. I think, and I must stress that I think, it's meant to go up against regular 1150/1151 chips, although more like the i7 than the i5. I think it's going to have some sort of hyper threading in it, along with HSA and a smaller architecture, but besides that I've no clue on it.

That it would. Have you checked fleabay for any used 990fx boards? Boards like the gigabyte ga 990fxa ud3 are pretty decent at a fairly attractive price point new, let alone used.

AMD are probably not going to shoot themselves in the foot by going for outdated technology since they are designing this from the ground up. Therefore I expect ddr4, pcie 3.0, LGA-like sockets, the lowest manufacturing node available to them and a competitive iGpu (I don't care for one, but there are many people who use high end chips and don't care for gaming) will be in it. I also think it will debut on a consumer platform, aka something like intel's lga 115x lineup and possibly have an enthusiast counterpart later (if the architecture is suitable for it. A 16 core FX chip would still have a hard time being considered enthusiast grade).

If I were you I'd get a core i5 and then wait it out.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Your facts are totally incorrect. Zen will NOT be using DDR3. It will be either DDR4 or some type of onboard stackable memory.

Well I'm sorry for there being a lack of clear information about on the subject. If I could remember off the top of my head, I'd have made sure I out that down though. Plus, I remember seeing a roadmap for AMD about a year to 18 months ago, which never showed any movement to DDR4 or anything else for the next 4-5 years, and as I've not seen a revised roadmap since the announcement of zen, I merely assumed they would integrate it into the original plans.
