Hey guys

I've a computer from 2008 or 2009 I can't really remember exact year but something in those years. Lately it's been dragging a lot like I try to open google chrome I get (unresponding) or how it's called in English OS anyway it doesn't respond. This can happen in many other programs or just opening a folder which is really annoying. So I was lately thinking if I want to build up a new PC where should I start?

Currently I'm running ASUS P5K motherboard, GTX 260, 4gb kingston ram (something), Intel Q6600 2.40ghz and 3 HDDS where my OS installed is the oldest don't know what brand it is but I've WD 1TB black and 3TB green HDDS for stroge.

I was thinking I'd start building it on my old case which is Antect Sonata 3 since the heat is little problem I suppose with CPU stock cooler I was thinking to try out maybe first buy new cooler for the CPU would that make any chance to slowness or unresponding etc crap? I was planning to buy Noctua NH-D15 but I'm not sure will it fit even inside my case? probably not I assume? So next I though could I possibly buy SSD and clone the current OS HDD over SSD to get better responsive and faster OS?

So what I should do? buy new motherboard, CPU, RAM and SSD at least for starters? I'm not really playing any demanding new games so..I don't really need that kind of monster PC straight off the bat..I could later buy better GPU.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/znk8mG this would be a very competitive build at a much cheaper price. You could even swap out the SSD for a larger capacity one as well. I left out the PSU since you said you recently bought a new one.

yea like I said I'd want to clone my current HDD over SSD so it should run faster..also I think 1000€ would be the budjet.  I definitely want Intel CPU

A-Data 256GB XPG SX900 SSD, 2,5", SATA III

I need at least 256gb if I want to clone my OS from HDD to SSD.

For a $1000 just get a new build, hardware gets very old very fast these days. maybe you can keep your PSU, if it's reliable, but even that is not necesary.)

I meant I'd clone from current HDD the OS over to SSD..and use my two other hdds for mass storage.

How old are those 2 HDDs?

If they are more than 2 or 3 years old, it's gonna be very slow, especially if they are 5400RPM, which they probably are in that case.

Actually they are both 7200 but they are for mass storage anyway mainly for music and movies. 1TB is WD black and other is 3TB WD green. Green is about 1 year old and black maybe 2. My OS is running on HDD from 2008 or 2009.

Oh ok then you can keep those, but definitely replace the one you an OS on. Best with an SSD, just like you said.
