New, Reasonably Priced Reference 290X

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

the Sapphire Tri-X or the Gigabyte Windforce are reference card with aftermarket coolers

PowerColor PCS+ uses reference board too

I currently have a reference Sapphire 290X 4GB thats under water.  I'm think about getting another and putting it under water as well so it would need to be reference based.  But my card is still currently being sold for over $800 thanks to the damn bitcoin miners, so are there any reference PCB cards at a current market price that would still overclock decently?  Like around $350?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Can just get that and put the waterblock on it, won't be able to tell a difference really.

Another thing you could do is get a used one for like $225 on hardware swap or ebay.

you just need it to have a reference PCB, no need for the cooler.

Cooling configurator shows the AXR9 290X from Powercolor to have the reference PCB. It's $280 on NCIX US http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=103515&vpn=AXR9%20290X%204GBD5-TDHE&manufacture=PowerColor&promoid=1261

Yea I hadn't thought of that I was just looking at the Tri-X, probably what I'll get.  I like sapphire, will be my fourth sapphire card.  It'll also be good for cool before I get the block.

Eh, I've never really heard much good of XFX and I feel the Sapphire would be better binned.

Yea totally forgot that aftermarket coolers might use reference PCBs.  I did see that, not sure if I'll get it or the sapphire.  Don't have an issue with Power Color but like I said above I've been doing well with Sapphire and it would match my other although that price may pull me in.
